So Now onto my story and project that I have made for this Special Friend of mine.

So my story starts off back in Dec 26th 2011. My Son Ethan who is one year POST LIVER TRANSPLANT.. was put on the ventilator. His little body couldn't breathe due to the fact that he had two huge Virus's and those Virus's attacked his Kidneys and Lungs. So Dec 26th my son and I were Life flighted from Akron Children's to Cincinnati Children. I do not have any family there. So they took Ethan and put him in the PICCU and all I could do was watch in shock.. that night I got a call from the front desk asking me to come down stairs a lady was waiting for me... Now mind You Sue-Ann ( Suzy's Crafts) and I only knew each other from being on a Design Team... but other than that  we had  never met each other.
So I went downstairs and sure enough there she was with a huge bag and more importantly a huge HUG! I just cried.. I was happy that I wasn't there by myself. I took her to Ethan's room and there she looked at me with fear in her eyes.. and she had some tears coming down her cheeks and I told her aw don't cry. She just looked at me and told me NO MOTHER SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS BY THEMSELVES.. Sue-Ann has been there for me ever since. Her family jokes and says yeah we thought mom was out of her  mind when she was going to the hospital to meet a young women who she has never met! Now I am part of her family. I have never met such wonderful people who open there home up to a stranger. Sue-Ann came and Visited Ethan and I at the hospital a lot! She helped me by giving me clothes, food and even money. We have gotten so close.. now we are inseparable!
Ethan is doing quite well and we will be heading back to Cincinnati Ohio on August 2 for his surgery on his tonsils and adenoids and a biopsy of his lymph nodes.
I am so blessed that God sent an angel to me during that hard time. I wouldn't know what I would have done if i have never had met Sue-Ann and her Beautiful Family!

So here is my project that I have made for her...

It's a Magnet Board!

These are the magnets that I made!

God blessed you with a special gift when He sent you Sue-Ann. What a special friend and your story and project honor her in a special way.

I think that you are ALL winners for having the love and support of these women who have touched your lives and supported you through good times and bad. Based on the projects and the presentation of the stories, my vote goes to Barbara. I loved how she personalized her stories with all the photos and her card with the cat was my favorite.

Wow.. really hard to pick someone.. everyone was so great with their stories and their projects. I would have to go with http://homespunelegance.blogspot.com/. I really loves her story and her projects.

Awesome story and so wonderful to have Sue-Ann support you... I have to check the other hoppers yet later.

i knew you would choose sue ann. i would have too. i think you are both very special in that you share and love. although it was very difficult to choose who i think should have an extra chance at winning something, it boiled down to my choice being jessica. her story really inspired me. if i were younger and didn't have to work to support my family, this is something i would have liked to do. work with people needing special care. giving them hope. i admire that in her, and hope you do as well.
nice stories by all. you are all blessed to have that 'special woman or women' in your lives.

Suzys Crafts said...

ok Melissa, I had to come back after reading all the blogs because you made me CRY! Girl you know I love you! I made Doug sit her and read it and he teared up as well! But I think you have it wrong, YOU are the inspiring one! You are a strong, god loving, beautiful woman and have taught me so much about faith. I am so lucky to have met you. Thank you and hurry up and get down here and bring me my present!! It is beautiful. Thank you so much. We all miss you and you know we adopted all of you! LOL. Now to vote, I too must say Jessica. All the women in this hop are so wonderful, but her story is so touching about helping others. She is wonderful!!

Your project is amazingly beautiful, and your story is even more so. You have been so blessed with the gift of friendship by Sue-Ann! Love and friendship can go so far in one's time of need! I am so happy to hear that your son is doing better and will pray for him for his future surgery and his continued good health as well as you and your entire family!

Rebecca said...

This is my after-hop post. This was such as inspirational and uplifting experience for me, although it left me in tears! All of the stories were so amazing, but I think that Sue-Ann touched me the most because she came to the rescue for someone she really didn't know personally and "changed" Melissa's whole situation by providing her with so much. A friendship like that is truly a blessing!
